In a remarkable farewell celebrating the country singer’s remarkable career and contributions to music, CMT will offer a special homage to the late Toby Keith tonight.
The 30-minute Toby Keith tribute, CMT Remembers, will premiere on CMT on February 8 at 8:00 p.m. The news and a quick video compilation of his performances were shared by the network on X. His “spirit, patriotism, and renegade independence” are synonymous with his music, and the program will delve deeply into the stories that go along with it.
The video tells the story, “He was one of country music’s biggest stars, but he was much more than that.” “He represented the energy and pride of America that permeated his songs. Come along as we bid Toby Keith farewell.

Keith’s first album, Toby Keith, launched his singing career in the 1990s. His 32 number-one hits include “How Do You Like Me Now?,” “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” and “I Love This Bar.” According to his official website, Keith has 61 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list and 42 songs that rank in the top ten. Over the course of three decades, he recorded 19 studio albums, selling over 40 million copies worldwide.
Following his diagnosis of stomach cancer in 2021, Keith postponed his concerts to receive treatment. He was 62 years old when he died away last Monday, surrounded by family.

After receiving his diagnosis, Keither has made a few appearances on stage again. He was recognized as the PCCA’s Country Icon and sang “Don’t Let the Old Man In” at the People’s Choice Country Awards in December of last year. He played three sold-out concerts in Las Vegas for his last performances.
Keith’s impactful music was acknowledged and appreciated by both fellow musicians and country music enthusiasts.

In his native Oklahoma, Keith was a founding member of the charitable organization Ally’s House, which supports families of children with cancer. He established the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 to aid the OK Kids Korral, a nonprofit that offers free lodging to kids battling cancer.
