The ‘amazing’ Apple Watch feature that can “predict” when you’re unwell has people swarming to social media.

Imagine having the ability to foresee when you would become ill so that you could take more vitamins and prevent a cold before it had a chance to completely develop.

According to reports, an Apple Watch app has been warning users when they could be about to get sick.

The ‘Vitals app knew [they] were unwell three days before [they] did’ was disclosed by Reddit user u/dalethomas81 in the thread r/AppleWatch.

“I woke up feeling off today,” they explained. I’m starting to get that old, familiar feeling in my mind as the evening draws in. I’m ill.

Additionally, they offer a screenshot of their Vitals page that demonstrates “three outliers,” or outcomes in the individual’s health data that are aberrant or outside the range of normal in comparison to prior days.

Others have quickly weighed in, many of them sharing their personal app experiences.

“I started using Vitals when it first came out on the beta, and since then, I’ve gotten sick about twice,” a Reddit user commented. On both occasions, it was aware a few days beforehand, and I didn’t experience any negative emotions. The potential utility of this feature is kind of crazy.
“Mine too, I’m still sick but watch noticed before I did,” another replied.

“Is it a high wrist temperature that tips you off?” asked a third.

In response, the original poster said: “Yes. Although it’s a little difficult to notice, the temperature is identified as the cause near the bottom of the screenshot.

Another person asked: “This is awesome, but what are the best actions you can take with this info to help limit the sickness?”

And the OP concluded: “You can limit other people’s exposure in addition to what others are saying. It would be beneficial for me to retain my distance from my wife and three children.

According to Apple’s website, “You can also tap Overnight Vitals, then tap More Info to learn about what results you may see, what it means when your overnight vitals are outside of your typical range, and the lifestyle factors that may affect your results.” This is for those who are fortunate enough to own an Apple Watch and want to try exploring the feature further.

Nevertheless, it also states that “Vitals app measurements are not intended for medical use” and suggests that you “consult your healthcare provider prior to making any decisions related to your health.”
