Thursday’s arrest of Rapper Lil Durk in Florida on a potential murder-for-hire case came under scrutiny.

Real name Durk Devontay Banks, the 32-year-old singer was arrested in Broward County, Florida on suspected participation in a murder-for-hire scheme. Currently in custody without bond on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Office at Broward County prison is he.

Durk was arrested just hours after federal prosecutors in California announced that a grand jury had indicted five men – Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston – for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire involving a death. All five males are purported members of Lil Durk’s Only the Family (OTF) group.

Although specifics of Durk’s arrest are still unknown, it is most likely related to the same event.

Targeting musician Quando Rondo and fatally killing his cousin Saviay’a Robinson in Los Angeles in August 2022, the five men are suspected of being engaged in a murder-for-hire scheme. The shooting was thought to be in response to Quando Rondo’s purportedly participation in November 2020 fellow rapper King Von’s killing.
