A major development in the investigation into Liam Payne’s death: Buenos Aires authorities have prosecuted three people they suspect were involved, TMZ reports.
According to law enforcement officials, the three suspects were charged on Thursday, and at least one of them worked at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Liam died.
According to reports, one suspect is identified as a “friend” who was in Liam’s hotel room with him but abandoned him before his death. The suspect has been charged with abandoning a person before death.
The second suspect is a hotel maid, who authorities believe may have given cocaine to Liam in a soap box. As previously reported, cops were looking at the Dove soap box found in the room because only housekeeping professionals have access to that soap supply within the hotel.

According to authorities, the third suspect is the alleged drug supplier, who provided narcotics to Liam twice on October 14, two days before his death. The suspected dealer and the hotel employee are also facing charges of dealing.
After executing repeated raids at the hotel and in homes throughout Buenos Aires, prosecutors said they combed through more than 800 hours of hotel surveillance video.
This news comes three weeks after the 31-year-old One Direction musician died after falling from a hotel’s third-floor balcony.
As previously reported by TMZ, the singer was in Buenos Aires to attend former bandmate Niall Horan’s gig at the Movistar Arena earlier in October, but decided to extend his trip with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

However, his visit took a terrible turn when Kate, an American influencer, decided to return to the States without Liam, leaving the singer alone in Argentina’s capital city.
LP was acting abnormally before falling from his hotel balcony, with a first autopsy report revealing cocaine, crack, ketamine, ecstasy, and “cristal,” a type of crystal meth, in his system.
We broke the story… in the aftermath of Liam’s death, detectives began looking into hotel personnel, alleging that one gave the British celebrity anti-anxiety medication, which was discovered in his room.
Photos from Liam’s hotel room revealed a chaotic scene, with drugs and paraphernalia among his stuff. Liam had previously spoken openly about his addiction difficulties, revealing in July 2023 that he was sober following a trip in treatment.
Geoff, Liam’s father, was in Buenos Aires for a period to assist investigators inquiring into his son’s death.
Liam’s body was reportedly turned over to his family on Wednesday and flown back to the UK on Thursday.
