After collaborating with some of Hip-Hop’s best, Young Thug was spotted in the studio with Antonio Brown. Over the years, the former star wide receiver experimented with music.

Thugger came in the film wearing a Yankees jersey and showing off some jewels, but AB had a minor joke for him: “You got some pounds, P.”

DJ Akademiks recently stated that Drake gave Young Thug $1 million in cash just hours after he was released. Talk about a friend. Think about it. Get out of jail, where your life is at stake, and win five of the six Mega Millions numbers. That is almost comparable.

Get this: on a live stream, Akademiks told an insider anecdote, asking, “You want to hear this play I heard? Watch out, he’ll call me up and say, ‘Yo, how you heard?’ ‘Cause he ain’t telling me. That is my man’s. When Thug is released from jail, there is talk that Drake traveled to Thug two hours later and supposedly gave him a million dollars. Akademiks went on to state, “Drake did not tell me this.” Drake is going to text me and ask, ‘Who told you this?'”

As one might assume, neither Drake nor Young Thug have corroborated the details of Akademiks’ claim. The media personality has frequently shown to be an accurate source of information, notably about the two rappers’ friendship. He was a key informant in the 6 Gods’ public rivalry with Kendrick Lamar and had correct knowledge of Drake’s planned music releases. Given their long-standing relationship, it’s not surprising that Drake would make such a gift, albeit time will tell if the claim is accurate.

Let’s go back to the good old days… Drake and Young Thug have been frequent collaborators since 2017, with hit songs including “Sacrifices,” “D4L,” “Solid,” “Bubbly,” and “Oh U Went.” Drake has been one of Thug’s most vocal supporters throughout the years, particularly since his imprisonment in 2022. On “Sticky,” he rapped, “Free Big Slime out of the cage,” expressing a great wish for Thug’s release.

The collaborations persisted, with increased public backing. On the August 2023 song “It’s Up,” featuring 21 Savage, Drake rapped, “I can’t sleep at night with Thug at Cobb County Corrections / I think he did enough reflectin’, I think my brother learned his lesson.” Drake stated in October 2023 that he had been financially helping Thug throughout his court challenges, stating on Instagram, “I ain’t talking to talk man, I really put up [bread emoji] on the [briefcase emoji] 3 Jeff.”

ICYMI, prior to Thug’s miraculous release after accepting that outrageously lucrative plea deal, he demonstrated similar camaraderie by supporting Drake, Metro Boomin, and Future in an October post on X. He wrote, “We’re all bruddas.” “Music ain’t the same without us collaborating,” he said, tagging all three stars in a plea for peace. It appears that Young Thug, with his unifying vibe, may play a part in healing the schism between these musicians, maybe leading to future collaborations.

Oh, it would be lovely to have a (actual) friend like Drake.
