According to a statement released by Samsung on Sunday, the executive chairman of Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), Jay Y. Lee, met with the CEO of Tesla (TSLA.O) on Wednesday to examine potential avenues of collaboration in upcoming high-tech industries.
According to Samsung, the two businesses are now investigating potential avenues of collaboration in the research and development of IT-related technologies, such as semiconductors for driverless vehicles.
According to the business, the meeting took place during Lee’s trip to the United States and was the first of its kind between the leaders of the South Korean chip giant and the American manufacturer of electric vehicles. Lee is currently in the United States.
