According to the Leichtman Research Group, YouTube TV attracted 600,000 new users in the third quarter of 2023, demonstrating its continued rapid expansion.
The beginning of college football season and NFL Sunday Ticket are major drivers of this rise.
There are apparently currently 6,500,000 TV subscribers to YouTube TV. This would position it only behind DISH, which has 6,720,000 members, in fifth place. With 14,495,000, Comcast maintains its lead over Spectrum (14,379,000) and DIRECTV (11,850,000).

Given its current growth rate and DISH’s recent customer losses, YouTube TV is expected to overtake its current ranking as the fourth-largest live TV service in the US by the end of 2023. This covers cable TV providers as well as streaming services.
According to subscribers, these are the leading live TV streaming services at the end of the third quarter of 2023.
6,500,000 on YouTube TV
4,600,000 on Live TV + Hulu
2,120,000 on Sling TV
11,477,00 on Fubo
With 310,000 new members, Fubo grew at the second-fastest rate among live TV services; Hulu + Live TV added 300,000 new members. There were 117,000 new Sling TV subscribers.
Nevertheless, in the third quarter of 2023, cable TV networks lost 465,761 customers despite the additions in streaming. In an effort to save money, a growing number of cord cutters are switching from live to on-demand only services.
