Wendy Williams’ latest documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?, was explosive. The documentary aired on Lifetime on Saturday (Feb. 24) and Sunday (Feb. 25), providing viewers a deeper peek at the ailing entertainer’s life recently.
Williams was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia and Aphasia, according to a recent press release issued by her team. They explained that the former talk show was diagnosed in 2023 and had undergone numerous testing. Wendy spoke out for the first time in a statement to TODAY following her diagnosis.

“I want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD),” she went on to say. “Let me just say, wow!” Your response has been overwhelming. The sentiments shared with me have moved me, reminding me of the strength of unity and the importance of compassion.”
However, the documentary does not discuss her diagnosis. Instead, it shows her at her lowest point, dealing with her autoimmune condition Graves’ disease. Another major point is Wendy’s guardianship, which occurred in 2022. As a result, she explains that she has “no money.” Williams lashes out at her loved ones and her team, forgets who people are, and even bursts into tears at times. “Where Is Wendy Williams?” is a challenging watch.

The documentary was criticized on social media, with comments like “exploitative,” “disturbing,” and “ethically wrong.” People took to X/Twitter to express their worries about the documentary and its content. Fans were particularly concerned that the project had been approved despite Wendy Williams’ present illness.
“This ‘dementia or not’ conversation is wildly frustrating because clearly a lot of y’all do not know what the symptoms of dementia actually are,” a member of the public wrote on Twitter. “It is totally ethically wrong to exploit a person who has now been diagnosed with a delibating disease as Wendy Williams has been,” he said.

sistence on Williams’ “healing.” “One of the most disturbing things about the #WendyWilliams documentary #WhereIsWendyWilliams thus far, is that there is all this talk about ‘healing’ and Wendy’s health but I haven’t seen any sign of a doctor or a doctor’s office anywhere,” Caudle wrote in an Instagram post.
Other observers criticized her for being “nasty” while hosting talk shows. They stated that her condition was karma. However, Williams’ admirers retaliated, accusing others of adopting the “karma” rationale to justify their hatred for her.
“If wendy williams dementia is ‘karma’ for her career of gossiping then y’all better RUN from karma cause y’all have said worse on this app for free,” the other person wrote. “Prayers for Wendy Williams.” Some may argue that it is ‘karma’, but I disagree. I still have a warm spot for Wendy.”
