However, with the “Like That” stanza, Kendrick demonstrated to the world that he meant serious business. He was no longer going to settle for being one of the Big Three. Instead, he wanted the title for himself, and Drake was the only person willing to oppose him for it. Well, after May 4th, it was evident that Kendrick was the genuine heir to the crown, as he delivered a truly spectacular performance.
On April 30th, Kendrick Lamar released his first proper diss tune against Drake. “Euphoria” debuted in the morning and stunned the world. It was full of nasty bars thrown against Drake, and despite the lack of a hook, it left a lasting effect. Numerous sentences remained in people’s thoughts, and even now, fans can’t help but blurt them out at inconvenient times. In fact, Kendrick’s song was so successful that it has gone platinum.
Kendrick now has three platinum singles in 2024. All of these tracks are among the fastest rap songs to hit platinum this year. These three tracks are “Euphoria,” “Like That,” and “Not Like Us.” The legend has had a very successful year, and there is now talk that he will release an album. If he were to do so, it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest releases of the year. Hopefully, those rumors become reality.
