When Eminem’s staff approached Jelly Roll to perform with the rap legend, he believed it was a prank.
The 39-year-old country artist and rapper had to pinch himself when the 51-year-old ‘Lose Yourself’ hitmaker requested him to perform ‘Sing for the Moment’ with him as a surprise for this month’s ‘Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central’ special for NBC.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he said: “When I think of the coolest moments of my career, right now at the top, there has to be this event where I get to go sing with Eminem in Detroit.

“I got to sing ‘Sing for the Moment’ with him, which is a song where he samples Steven Tyler. I mean, what an amazing night, and I got to do it in Detroit. “It was unbelievable.
The ‘Son of a Sinner’ star, real name Jason Bradley DeFord, called the duet the “coolest moment ever”.
He recalled: “Em and his team reached out and asked, ‘Would you be interested in doing this since he was already there doing the secret tribute?'” I could not believe it. I assumed it was a joke until I saw Eminem himself.

“I assumed you were joking! I actually know Eminem’s manager. He is a friend of mine. He’s incredibly nice to me. I was like, ‘Paul, don’t play.’ He was saying, ‘I swear.’ And meeting Eminem was the finest moment I’ve ever had, man.”
He admitted, “I was giddy, like a child.”
“You could see it throughout my performance. I’m only a kid. I assumed the camera was off of me. So as soon as I finish singing, I’m like, “Whoa, I just let this steamroller out.” It’s very cool.”
