Today, NBC Sports revealed that its daily Olympic Recap on Peacock will be powered by an AI broadcaster with the voice of Al Michaels. This customer-created Olympics recap on Peacock will present fans with highlights of the Olympics focused on the sports they are interested in.
“Peacock continues to introduce unique customer-first features that strengthen our unmatched leadership in live streaming,” said Kelly Campbell, NBCUniversal’s President of Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer. “With these recaps alongside interactive elements like Peacock Live Actions and Discovery Multiview, we’re bringing the best of sports together with the best of technology to deliver fans a personalized Olympics experience in a way that’s never been possible before.”
“When I was approached about this, I was skeptical but obviously curious,” Al Michaels told me. “Then I saw a demonstration of what they had in mind. I replied, ‘I’m in.'”
Peacock believes there will be over 7 million individualized variants of “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock” that will provide personalized updates based on 5,000 hours of live coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
