SZA will take a sabbatical from live performances “for a while”.

The 34-year-old singer has stated that she will be taking a break from live music after her performance at the Osheaga festival in Montreal, Canada, on Sunday night (04.08.24), in order to focus on her personal life.

In a brief message on X, formerly Twitter, she wrote: “Yesterday was my final gig for a while. Thank you God, I’m finally about to get my life together. (sic)”

Prior to the announcement, she responded to a fan who stated the ‘Saturn’ hitmaker’s shows got them “so hype” and enthusiastic.

She said, “This makes me very pleased because that’s all I’m trying to achieve!!

“I just want to absorb your energy, blend it with mine, add some love, and throw it back. All within 90 minutes… I love you (sic).

SZA has had a busy year, having headlined the Glastonbury Festival in June and admitting after the event that she was “so nervous” about performing on the renowned Pyramid Stage.

She informed the audience, “Glastonbury, I was quite frightened to be here with you today.

“I am very appreciative; you have my greatest love and respect. I love you always, and God bless you. “Get home safely, my name is SZA, and good night.”

SZA has been candid about her mental health difficulties, and earlier this year she revealed that she sees three separate therapists.

Since becoming one of the world’s biggest stars with her album ‘SOS’, the ‘Kill Bill’ hitmaker has struggled to adjust to being in the spotlight and admits she has lashed out in “frustration” due to the immense pressure she is under, which is so debilitating it makes her want to stay at home.

She told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “So I’ve been really trying to get my spiritual hygiene together because I recently realized that a lot of this s*** is not normal.” I had no idea how to digest that experience.

“And I was quite angry and frustrated. And there are a lot of opinions, a lot of entitlement to space, a lot of entitlement to time, and a lot of expectations.”
