BeatKing, a beloved Houston rapper and producer, killed away at the age of 39.
His manager, Tasha Felder, confirmed the awful news in an Instagram post yesterday, sharing a poignant statement about the devastating loss. “Today, August 15, 2024 we have lost @clubgodzilla,” she told me. “Beating has been the best aspect of the club for over a decade. He has created and collaborated with so many musicians that his sound will live forever. He adored his girls (@clubgodparenting), his music, and his fans. “We’ll love him forever.”
BeatKing’s cause of death was initially unknown, but a representative told TMZ today that he died as a result of a pulmonary embolism. He reportedly fainted while presenting a takeover on Urban One/Radio One. The artist was immediately brought to the hospital, but he died with his two daughters by his side.
Of course, BeatKing’s death provoked strong reactions from fans and peers. 2 Chainz, for example, turned to Instagram today to compliment his old comrade. “My condolences @clubgodzilla ….. God Bless your soul and family,” he posted on Instagram. Bun B also shared a touching remark on the death yesterday.
“It’s always the good ones,” it states. “Damn, this sh*t stung. Just a wonderful, vibrant individual. We have lost a wonderful artist and father. I pray for @talameshia and his loved ones. “RIP, @clubgodzilla.” Countless more are weighing in on X, reflecting on his life and expressing their best wishes to his family during this tough time.
