To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the legendary 1964 Beatles North American Tour, Gottahaverockandroll.com is pleased to provide The Beatles Contract Archive for the 1964 North American Summer Tour.
Signed by Brian Epstein – Featuring 48 Contracts and Other Important Correspondence!
This unique collection includes 24 performance contracts signed by Beatles manager Brian Epstein or NEMS employee Bernard Lee for each location where the Beatles performed during their historic North American tour from August 19 to September 18, 1964. Each contract also includes a rider signed by either Brian Epstein or Bernard Lee. Kansas City, Missouri, on September 17, 1964, is missing since it was a “add-on” concert after the tour was announced. Except for the August 20, 1964 engagement in Las Vegas, Nevada, all performance contracts include separate signed riders. While some performance contracts for the 1965 and 1966 tours have surfaced, none have ever appeared in a public auction for the 1964 tour, making this archive a historic Smithsonian-style collection. All of the riders include the infamous “Desegregation Clause.”
